Patient Notice – COVID Vaccination

The NHS is continuing to prioritise vaccinating those people who experts have agreed will benefit from it the most – specifically those aged 70 and over, people who live and work in care homes, health and social care workers, and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable.

If you are aged 70 and over and haven’t had your first dose yet, please come forward now and make an appointment at, or by phoning 119 if you can’t use the internet.

The NHS will also be following up directly with the remaining people in this group by phone and letter, particularly those on the Shielded Patients List – if that is you and you haven’t been written to, you can contact your GP.

NHS staff are doing an incredible job to deliver the largest vaccination programme in our history but we need the public to play their part too:

  • please don’t contact the NHS to seek a vaccine unless you are in the above groups, we will contact you when it is the right time
  • when we do contact you, please attend your booked appointments at exactly the time you’re asked to, so that we can avoid queues in this cold weather
  • and whether you have had your vaccine or not, please continue to follow all the guidance in place to control the virus and save lives.

Further information is available on the ‘COVID-19 vaccinations in North Central London’ page on the North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group website.

Responses to frequently asked questions from the public and health and care staff are also available at – Frequently asked questions (FAQs) and will continue to be updated.

Clinical guidance on second doses

We understand that some people may be anxious about the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine being delayed.

Following a review of clinical evidence and latest public health data, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation and the UK Chief Medical Officers updated guidance for the NHS on the second dose for both vaccines, meaning they can be safely offered up to 12 weeks apart.

This decision will allow us to get the maximum benefit for the most people in the shortest possible time and will help save lives.

Getting both doses remains important so we would urge people to return for it at the right time.
